My Kenai Peninsula Stay-Cation in Homer during Covid-19 | Kenai Peninsula Tourism Marketing Council

I can't believe its another MoTuthurday already and I wanted to share with you what Mark, Alice and I did the first MoTuthurday this week.  We were a little stir crazy and needed to get some fresh air while making sure we were safe and following the health mandates Governor Dunleavy has issued for Alaska.

We loaded up in the suburu with Alice's bike and hit the Homer Spit for a walk along the bike path.  We worked up an appetite so I looked up the Homer to Go Facebook page the Homer Chamber of Commerce has put together to check out our options.  Beluga Lake Lodge Bar & Grill had an online ordering portal and we picked our burgers up curbside, no contact!

Our car picnic was enjoyed at Mariner Park overlooking Kachemak Bay.  After eating we searched for beach glass, found some fun rocks and had a driftwood sword fight.  We got away from the house, enjoyed fresh ocean air and supported a local business while maintaining social distance.  This got me thinking: how is the rest of the Kenai Peninsula doing this?

We would love to share your pictures and stories.  Is your business open or are you switching to some type of online-shopping?  Do you offer gift certificates?  What are creative ways you are reaching the community and your customers? I really need a break from social media and want to hear directly from you so I can share your good news and safe-stay-cation ideas.
