Hope was one of the original gold rush towns formed in 1889. Miners named their camp after prospector Percy Hope. The buildings and flavor of the early days still charm, with the store downtown serving customers since 1896! You will feel as you stepped back in time in this peaceful town.

Hope, like its name suggests, is a town for opportunists and adventurers. With local hiking trails nearby and tons of outdoor activities, the possibilities are endless! If you really want to get your adrenaline flowing, you can try a class V whitewater rafting trip!

If you prefer a more serene experience with nature, explore 100’s of miles of forest service maintained hiking trails! Hope has renowned trails such as Palmer Creek, Resurrection Pass, Gull Rock, and Hope Point. Don’t forget to always be bear aware.
