#Playcation: Sterling | Kenai Peninsula Tourism Marketing Council

Sterling, Alaska is just 10 miles northeast of Soldotna. This special place is full of sport fishing, outdoor recreation activities, and more!

This is a highway community with a number of businesses that accommodate the sportfishing industry and the outdoor buffs who arrive in the summer. Located near the Kenai and Moose river, there are tons of things to explore and do. One very popular Sterling activity is fishing. With Alaska State Parks recreation area like Morgan’s Landing and Scout Lake, you are able to easily get river access for a day of fishing fun.

There are numerous camping opportunities as well at these locations and makes for a peaceful getaway that is still close to home. If you have never been, be sure to check out the Swanson River Canoe Trails.
