Beginner's Luck: Rope Tow Free Trial | Kenai Peninsula Tourism Marketing Council

Newbies orientation to using the Rope Tow:

If you are new to skiing or snowboarding as well as to the Rope Tow, learning how to skillfully grab ahold of the rope and ride uphill while holding on can seem difficult. Even more so when there is a crowd in line behind you and you know if you falter or fall everyone else gets held up.

So we’ve decided to make the last half hour (3:30- 4:00pm) a special time for our beginners. If you come up to the hill late in the day, then sign in at 3:30pm, there’s no charge.

This is a prime time to use the rope since the lines will be short as the end of the day approaches and the snow on the tow path and slopes will be packed down and easier for beginners to navigate. We want you to feel safe and confident in using the Tow!

If you’ve already been using the slopes earlier in the day, we will make sure Newbies are prioritized in line vs. veteran rope tow users
